China expects Iraq to realize stability and development
BEIJING, The Chinese government consistently supports Iraq in both safeguarding its national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and realizing stability and development.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Weimin made the remarks at a press conference here on Thursday.
"China expects that Iraq will speed up the process of political and economic reconstruction," Liu said, adding that the Iraqi people have the ability to overcome difficulties in order to achieve nationwide safety, stability and development.
U.S. President Barack Obama on Wednesday marked the end of Iraq War with a visit to troops, saying that the final preparations for the U.S. military to leave Iraq have been finished. The last U.S. troops will begin their final march out of Iraq in the next few days.
