Zebari discuss preparations for the signing of the agreement on cooperation and partnership between Iraq and the European Union

Baghdad, Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, at the Conference Centre in Bonn, with Baroness Catherine Ashton, the High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and security in the EU preparations for the signing of the agreement on cooperation and partnership between Iraq and the European Union.

External statement said she understood (News News Agency) on Monday: meeting punctuated review the relationship between Iraq and the EU in the light of the evolving relations between the two sides and in the light of the preparations for the signing of the agreement on cooperation and partnership between Iraq and the European Union.

Both sides stressed the importance of this agreement in advance the relationship between advanced steps forward.

It was addressed to the Government's decision to close camp Ashraf Iraq at the end of the year 2011, and emphasize the sovereign decision to Iraq.

Baroness Ashton appreciated Iraq's position in dealing with this topic under humanitarian considerations, respect for international humanitarian law, and the steps taken by Iraq in this area in cooperation with relevant international bodies, including the UN High Commissioner for refugees and the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).
